Manchester City Council

Savings Demonstrated 1/3rd of Annual Carbon Emissions

Manchester City Council Town Hall was completed in 1877 and is listed with a Grade One exterior.  It has an office and state room extension to the rear which was completed in 1938, and a striking circular design library, built in 1934.

Cynergin conducted a study of the potential to save energy.

We identified a range of demand-reduction measures and improvements to the heating system: replacement heating plant including combined heat-and-power (CHP) and replacement of the entire, ageing single-pipe heating system.

We quantified annual savings of £150,000 in energy costs and 1,815 tonnes CO2.
